Happy Fall!

Sorry I haven't been posting... it is a little crazy around here. Since NYC we have been to Decatur for Eliana's birthday, to a cabin in Blue Ridge, GA for a family reunion, three weddings, to TN and Evansville to visit friends and family, and Grandma and Grandpa, Ryan, Jane, and Eliana came to town for a bit. On top of all of that we have been trying to keep up with fall activities; apple picking, Boo in the Zoo, pumpkin carving, Fall festivals, etc... WHEW!

The Grogg clan came! We had an extended time with Jane and Eliana and we had a blast!

NYC!!!!!!

Here are a few pictures from the highlights of our trip... Times Square, Broadway Musical, Statue of Liberty, Central Park (the MET and Tavern on the Green), and the Empire State Building. We had a great time! We went non-stop from the minute we arrived and had beautiful weather the whole time. New York City is an exciting place, we can't wait to go back one day!

Andrea was ready for this... she had been asking to have her hair cut for quite sometime. I finally caved and let her do it. It was getting tangly and into her food. She loves it shorter and I know it will grow fast!

Grogg's visit

Sorry it has been a while since I have posted... we have had a super busy summer and I have been trying to get caught up with me scrapbooking and organizing my pictures on my computer. Blogging has kind of been last priority... I will do a couple of posts and hopefully I will be able to keep up through the fall! This summer we have been busy going to free movies, Chick-Fil-A, Furman track meets, the beach, and swim lessons. The babies have enjoyed it all! The last week in July all of Michael's family were here for a great visit! Then, Gma and Gpa Grogg stayed longer while mommy and daddy got to have alone time in NYC for our 7th anniversary! WHEW!! Fall has a lot in store as well... along with the usual football games, we have weddings, showers, a trip to Decatur for a 1st birthday celebration, scrapbooking retreat, cabin weekend with the clemson girls, cabin weekend in Blue Ridge GA, and all of the regular holiday festivities. Stay tuned...

David is walking!!!!

And "talking" and climbing...

David started pushing things around while he walked behind a while back, but just this week he began taking a few steps between two people or things. He is so proud of himself! I plan to get a video soon. He claps for himself every time he does it. He is also using some babble that I actually understand, he says, "BU!" whenever he sees Buzz and wants to pet him. He said, "BOO BEA" when I was bring him blueberries the other day, and "Yo Yo" after I said yogurt while I was feeding it to him.

Andrea was such a good climber at like 8 months, I kind of thought that milestone just went along with cruising. When David couldn't climb that early I was almost worried about it, until I talked to some friends and remembered how shocked people were that my 13 month old would climb to the top of playground equipment with ease. Then, of course, she went down the slide head first, and since she always did things head first I just sat at the bottom and watched, clapping for her! The gaurds on the high platforms were very good and she never went up more than 3 steps at a time without me behind her, so don't think I am a careless mom! Nevertheless, I did get lots of funny looks at playgrounds during that time! I tell you this because now I definitely understand the suprised looks on other parents faces! If I had had David first, I would have not understood how a 13-14 month old could climb to the top of anything by themself! He seems so little! He can climb now, but still not very well. He doesn't enjoy playgrounds yet the way Andrea did by this time. Soon enough!

The family all together!

When we went to visit Michael's family at the end of April we had a great time! Vera Bradley Outlet Sale, and being able to see lots of family and a great friend from Evansville made the 10 hour trip worthwhile. Here are some pictures of Michael's mom's side of the family all together and pictures of Michael's whole immediate family. This only happens about once a year that we are all together and sometimes not even that often. We have to make sure to get pictures when it does! I love the pictures of the cousins together! We get to see them again soon and we can't wait!

Meg and Zeb

One of my best friends from MS/HS that I had lost touch with came to our HS reunion last month. We had discussed getting together again and they came this weekend to spend the weekend with us. Meg and I had a ball reminiscing and getting to know each other as we are today. I think we will be great friends for the rest of our lives and I hope we never lose touch again. Over the weekend we talked, laughed, ate some great food, watched "Slum dog Millionaire" (GREAT movie!), and went to a park in greenville to meet up with her sister who lives in the area with her two girls. I was terrible again and never took out my camera, but Zeb got some great shots at the park. You can see Meg and I chatting in the background in a few of these...

SESAME STREET!!!!! Andrea had a great time at her Sesome Street party. She had friends and family surrounding her as she celebrated the day away! We had games and cake and all the traditional party stuff. I don't think the day could have been any better. We missed those who couldn't make it!
